A simple pitot probe was used to make basic flow field measurements around an inlet valve. The probe successfully located a flow disturbance responsible for a 1% change in mass flux. This result shows that the probe is an inexpensive and adaptable way to analyze flow changes, allowing an engineer to optimize a port and valve combination.
