No evidence of compatibility was found and the interfacial adhesion between the two polymer phases was shown to be very low. A compatibiliser was produced by mixing a poly(ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) ionomer (Surlyn 8660) with a poly(hydroxyether of bisphenol A) (Phenoxy polymer, Ucar PKHH). Its properties were tested and its efficiency as compatibiliser for the blend was investigated. [Continues.] %I Loughborough University
