The existing Technology National Curriculum requires pupils to evaluate the work of others engaged in design and technological activity. This is an area that many teachers have not traditionally dealt with in any depth and requires special care during teaching and assessment.
This paper will cover the following aspects of evaluating the work of others.
Requirements and opportunities within Key Stage 4 to address cultural and value issues through evaluation of the work of others.
Related issues and concerns
Approaches to teaching and assessing the work of others.
Throughout, the paper draws heavily on the experience of Intermediate Technology personnel who have been working closely with classroom teachers.
