Despite this, phosphorimetry was far less popular as an analytical method than might reasonably be expected from a consideration of its advantages. The main reasons for this are almost certainly the cost of the equipment required, the difficulties in sample handling and the problems associated with availability and use of liquid nitrogen. The aim of this present work was to reduce or eliminate as many problems as possible associated with current phosphorimetric techniques, and to show further the general applicability of the method.
