This article adopts a different approach, seeking to show that the shaping of transnational remembering in and through the media has a long history. To demonstrate this, the article examines selected aspects of cross-border television and representations of the past in the era of terrestrial television, focusing on experiences in state socialist Eastern Europe. %I Loughborough University
