A study of the miscibilities of liquids in carbon dioxide
thesis
posted on 2017-12-11, 17:00 authored by Kevin JacksonThis study has examined the miscibilities of entrainers with supercritical carbon dioxide
under a range of experimental conditions.
Binary supercritical fluid mixtures are being used more frequently to enhance
separations, influence reactions, modify supercritical chromatographic systems, etc.,
and consequently, there is increasing interest in the phase behaviour of these mixtures.
This thesis has examined this behaviour in a number of systems, of carbon dioxide and
C1 to C2 solvents, particularly the haloalkanes. [Continues.]
