A theory of the hydrocyclone

online resource
posted on 2019-02-07, 11:49 authored by J.E. Byrne
A theoretical formula has been proposed for the tangential velocity in the hydrocyclone. This velocity profile compares favourably with the generally-accepted empirical formula. Methods have been tested for determining the boundary conditions and an empirical formula has been given for determining the angular velocity of the air core from the pressure-drop across the hydrocyclone.
