Imidazolium ylides from a conjugate addition-proton transfer route and their cycloaddition reactions

proton transfer from dihydroimidazoles and doubly-activated
electron-deficient alkenes afford 2:1 cycloadducts in a one-pot
process wherein the alkene also acts as a dipolarophile.
