The analysis showed that the system becomes Q1D, when equally charged particles suspended in complex plasma move in the plane and interact with a screened Coulomb potential. The number of acoustical branches were found equal to the number of optical branches and in turn equal to the number of chains in the system. The analysis also made predictions for single chain dispersion relation in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field and the multichain dispersion relations, when the modes were excited by an external driving force.
