Police responses to disability hate crime in Essex: End of project report
Criminal justice responses to disability hate crime have been criticised, particularly in relation to low rates of reporting. To address this, Essex Police are developing an evidence-base from which to promote best practice and build more effective responses to people who experience disability hate crime. The present research contributes to this evidence-base by undertaking a Rapid Evidence Assessment of the existing national literature and conducting focus groups with disabled people and organisations who support them.
