In many optical array-based imaging applications, the sensors employed have a narrow field of view, so defining a particular region that can be imaged. In typical SONAR applications (for example towed arrays) the sensors are omni-directional in nature. This thesis deals with the possible use of optical techniques in this situation where the sensors are omni-directional. [Continues.]
