conference contribution
posted on 2015-08-18, 08:47 authored by Victoria HainesVictoria Haines, Val MitchellVal Mitchell, Tracy RossTracy RossThis position paper presents a number of challenges and opportunities for sustainable HCI that have emerged from research conducted by the authors within domestic energy demand reduction and sustainable transport over a period of 15 years. It is argued that the complexity of sustainability problems requires HCI design to be situated within a wider User Centred Design (UCD) approach that supports holistic consideration of user experiences and collaboration across disciplines beyond the traditional scope of HCI.
