The aim of this chapter is to introduce key concepts and practical examples related to the manifestations of and responses to online violence against children in sport that the reader may apply to their own sporting contexts. We define online violence against children in sport and review key scientific research on this topic. In the second section, we offer a detailed analysis of the complexity of the sport environment in Australia, using it as a case study to illustrate guiding principles in an appropriate recognition and response to online violence against children. Finally, we highlight research gaps, as well as provide suggestions for policy and practice development.
