A general and holistic framework is proposed as a decision-making tool to effectively design multistage continuous crystallization processes by combining the attainable regions methodology with the steady state and dynamic optimization. The objective is to build multistage crystallization platforms which can deliver tunable crystal sizes of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) while exhibiting optimal steady state and dynamic performances.
