The paper presents a bow-tie slot array on a half-mode integrated digitated capacitor based corrugated substrate integrated waveguide (IDC-CSIW). The novel half mode CSIW is shown to operate in TE0.5,0 mode with a transmission loss of approx. 0.9 dB. It is used as a guiding structure for a leaky-wave antenna (LWA) at 25 – 30 GHz. The antenna is shown to have an approx. stable gain of 13.5 dBi with an efficiency > 1 dB throughout the frequency band. The antenna has a frequency-based beam-scanning of 6° per GHz.
