Edge grip is an important parameter of a ski’s on-snow feel and performance. Good edge grip allows skiers to slow down when desired and also confidently hold turns. There are different theories that attempt to explain edge grip force production. This paper describes continuing work, with the aim of elucidating the factors influencing edge grip.
