In this article, the surface impedance, Z surf of a cross slotted anisotropic hexagonal unit-cell has been characterized by analyzing the effects of rotation factor and effective length of the slot. Surface current distribution for each cell defies current mode variation and also expresses the impedance diversification. A closed form empirical relation has been determined to characterize the Z surf on the basis of the two parameters. Finally, a multibeam Impedance modulated surface is presented using the proposed study and the results are verified in simulation. The respective coefficients (a 0 , a n , b n ) are given in Table II.
