The need of develop, organize and establish guidelines
about renewable energy education, mainly at university
level, have been studied in several papers. Investigation
facility has been developed in this work, at University
Energy Laboratory, to create options for evaluate the
performance improvements of Photovoltaic-Wind hybrid
systems. This research facility is the first step of the
investigation program to develop the required
infrastructures that allow investigating and developing
optimization strategies to renewable energy systems
technology, in the specific weather conditions of the
Mexican Eastern. A customized control interface has been
created using control and data acquisition graphical software
programmed in VisualBasic programming language. This
paper presents an outline of design and development of PVWind
hybrid energy generation system and characterization
system, carried out with academic purposes, in Engineering
Faculty of Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico.
