Mark Porter, Ruth Sims, Diane GyiDiane Gyi, Keith Case“Design for All” or inclusive design is an approach to product, environment or service design that aims to maximise usability, not to tailor designs to the user in a bespoke fashion, but to provide a single solution that accommodates the needs of all users including those who are older or disabled. Key to this is establishing empathy between designers and the people who would primarily benefit who are often older, in poor health and unable to achieve all the tasks they would like to with ease and confidence (if at all).
