A novel and systematic model-based design of experiments (MBDoE) strategy is proposed to develop robust and reliable mathematical models of batch and continuous crystallization processes. The proposed MBDoE methods incorporate different operation strategies such seeded and unseeded operation, various linear cooling profiles, and temperature cycling. Furthermore, single-objective and mutiobjective optimization methods are considered and compared.
