This study investigates two calculation techniques and a machine learning (ML) method to predict the club head speed in golf by means of a low-cost IMU attached to the shaft proximal to the club head, with a 16 g and a 200 g accelerometer and a sample frequency of 677.36 Hz. A commercial indoor tracking system serves as the gold standard.
