An overview of the analytical methods for aerodynamic analysis of the flow passing through the rotor of a wind turbine Darrieus type is presented in the current paper. The analytical methods are used in the Darrieus turbine design development and performance evaluation prediction. The advantages, drawbacks and relevant field of applications for the Vortex and Cascade analytical models are reviewed.
