Antimicrobial Resistance of the Silicone Elastomer

dataset
posted on 2018-05-24, 08:48 authored by Sophia Tetteh, Richard Bibb, Simon MartinSimon Martin

Material processing and post care methods (specifically for the silicone elastomer) for the maxillofacial prostheses in reducing the biofilm growth. This was performed by subjecting the samples to bacterium infection and then using a plant based antimicrobial to disinfect the test sample. After, the test samples were subjected to mechanical testing (tensile and tear strength, elongation test, Shore A hardness) and morphology tests (visual observation and scanning electron microscopy).
