Until recently little interest was shown concerning the presence and impact of overseas trainees and qualified nurses in the N.H.S. hospitals. But since the setting up of the Briggs Committee which recognised “the vital part which they (overseas nurses) play in staffing National Health Service hospitals,” there has been a fair amount of activity.
