‘Richard Deacon: This Is Where Ideas Come From’ is the first exhibition to focus on Deacon’s models for large-scale sculpture. It results from three-way conversations between the sculptor, Phillip Lindley, the curator of the exhibition, and myself in June and July 2014. Phillip had cocurated the exhibition ‘Image and Idol: Medieval Sculpture’, at Tate Britain in 2001–2 with Richard and embraced the opportunity of working with the sculptor again, this time on a project which concentrates on Deacon’s work exclusively. The show is on display from 7 July to 30 September 2015. The exhibition has been made possible by generous awards from The Henry Moore Foundation and from Wolfson College
