The sculptured relief around the balcony protruding from the 'Prefecture' – the territorial office of the government of Latina Province in Piazza della Libertà (formerly Palazzo del Governo in Piazza XXIII Marzo) is from where Mussolini addressed the public. The depicted themes of land reclamation, agriculture, and family, epitomize the fascist vision for the region. The relief was designed by Francesco Barbieri and represents the goddesses Ceres, Igea, and Minerva, and is an allegory of the region's reclamation.
