This pastiche of the City of Westminster street nameplate, located in the London Borough of Newham, clearly exhibits the same basic approach of the Westminster sign. But it is noticeably different in the way the space between the two words that make up the avenue name is larger than the original, and there is also less care taken with the inter-character spacing, or what may also be called kerning. For example, there are noticeable irregular spaces between the letters on the Newham version (compare the relationship between A and V with the N and U in the word Avenue). Also, the corners of the sign are square rather than the more gentle curve evident in the Westminster version.
