Climate change in the Hindu Kush Himalayas: Basis and gaps

Recent reports such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere and the Hindu Kush Himalaya Assessment highlight the impacts of current and accelerating climate change in mountain regions. However, a multi-dimensional gap remains regarding research at high elevations in general. Here, we reflect upon this gap and ways in which it can be filled.
