Corrigendum to “Renewable hydrogen economy outlook in Africa” [Renew Sustain Energy Rev 167 (2022) 112705]

We regret the following unintentional unit scaling error made in Figs. 4 and 5 in our paper [1]. The standalone scaling error occurred when presenting the results. Thus, it does not affect the correctness of the results in other figures and sections because the correct units were used in the analyses. ✓ Sentence number four in the abstract should be “The regional solar, wind, CSP, and biohydrogen potential range from 366 to 1311 Mt/year, 162 to 1782 Mt/year, 463 to 2738 Mt/year, and 0.03 to 0.06 Mt/year respectively”.✓ The units in Figs. 4 and 5 should be Mt/year. See Figs. 4 and 5 with the corrected units in the map legends.✓ All the units in section 3.2 based on Figs. 4 and 5 should be Mt/year.✓ The sentence in section 3.2 should be “Contrastingly, the total annual solar PV potential for Algeria ranged from 259 to 369 GWh/km2/year while it is smaller in this study, 9 MWh/km2/year, …“.✓ The units in the sentences of the second paragraph of the conclusion should be Mt/year.✓ The hydrogen potential units in the supplementary material have been corrected accordingly.✓ Lastly, the in-text reference in the last sentence of the second paragraph in section 3.5.3.1 “… and a lack of funding for new oil and gas projects” should be [2]. [Formula presented] Fig. 4 Country-level feasible renewable hydrogen potential (PVH2-solar photovoltaic hydrogen, CSPH2-concentrated solar power hydrogen, WINDH2-wind hydrogen, BIOH2-biohydrogen).[Formula presented] Fig. 5 Regional level feasible renewable hydrogen potential (PVH2-regional solar photovoltaic hydrogen, CSPH2-regional concentrated solar power hydrogen, WINDH2-regional wind hydrogen, BIOH2-regional bio hydrogen).
