New normalized constant modulus algorithms with relaxation

A new normalized constant modulus algorithm is proposed that has a more desirable error performance surface (EPS) than the existing constant modulus blind equalization algorithms. We show that for an autoregressive channel, a well-known class of undesirable local solutions (ULSs) does not exist. The EPSs and convergence of the parameters are shown for a number of channels for which well-known algorithms are known to possess ULSs
