Operations and supply chain management on agricultural sustainability: a literature review
The aim of this paper is to provide insight on the focal literature of operations and supply chain management in agriculture as it is global key components for the sustainability. This is crucial because it enables flow of products and information sharing within the supply chain by reducing risk and uncertainties factors encountered such as infrastructure, security, finance, climate change and enabling environment. The reduction of risk and uncertainty in agricultural activities encourages farmers engagement into production and market turnover. Yet, evidence from the literature revealed that most of the existing information on agricultural supply chain are more focused on developed countries which demonstrate a lack of information flow on agricultural supply chain in the developing countries. This review contributes and provide future research direction for researchers and practitioners into this new area of research for effective and sustainable agricultural operation.
