Revisiting the future of travel planning

journal contribution
posted on 2013-08-19, 09:12 authored by Marcus EnochMarcus Enoch
This paper reports the core findings of a new book, Sustainable Transport, Mobility Management and Travel Plans, published in May by Ashgate, which investigates the development of the travel plan as a concept and explores its future and it draws on a range of research-based contributions to determine the successes in travel planning and explore a series of future scenarios. Travel plans have been central to addressing a variety of transport challenges by engaging with those organisations and people that are directly responsible for generating traffic demand including businesses and retail outlets. This and other important issues and aqpproaches to travel planning are investigated in this paper.
