Warning: this video contains flashing images and may trigger photosensitive viewers. The drawing is made up of thousands of repeated memes evoking the repetition of memes spoken by my teenaged child towards me in our home after watching them on You Tube. Documentation of the drawing when complete was used to create a digital assemblage of the pencil drawing overlaid with with audio taken from meme videos, text from Kristeva and an autoethnographic maternal monologue. The video addresses psychoanalytic theories of abjection, maternal subjectivity and maternal eroticism.
