The Oak Tree (3rd iteration) 2021-2023 performance drawing to video

A performance drawing to video by artist Penny Davis using charcoal recorded under an oak tree in Loughborough as part of the research for the thesis Matricentric Drawing: Strategies for Visualising Reproductive Work and Maternal Thinking as a Single Mother. The artist draws lines in charcoal down each side of the body responding to the memory of the physical action of holding and cuddling a child. The video is the third iteration in a three part series of tests.
