The Oak Tree iteration 2 (A) Performance Drawing to Video, 2021-2023

A performance drawing to video by artist Penny Davis using charcoal recorded in the Loughborough University photography studio as part of the research for the thesis Matricentric Drawing: Strategies for Visualising Reproductive Work and Maternal Thinking as a Single Mother. The artist draws lines in charcoal down each side of the body responding to the memory of the physical action of holding and cuddling a child. The video is the second iteration in a three part series of tests.
