Can I use this image flowchart

This flowchart aims to help in assessing if an image (drawing, infographic, diagram, or any other visual material excluding maps) can be used safely.

This infographic does not refer to archival material or material generated by AI. Some cartoons may be subject to trademark principles and photographs do not fall under the fair dealing principle, as such, permission needs to be sought.

Material used for publication (blogs, websites, journal articles, book chapters or books) will require permission, no legal exceptions can be used.

Public Domain refers to the fact that copyright has expired or has been relinquished by the copyright holder. It does not include all material found on the Internet, even though, public domain material can be found online. For more information, please contact the copyright officer or library at your relevant institution.
