Experience teaching industrial design at an undergraduate level has shown
the author that students with a high grade ‘A’ level in Design subjects from
schools do not, necessarily, succeed at a high level at university. There are
clearly many factors involved and the relationships will be both complex and
unique to individuals. This paper presents work done to start unpicking these
factors and relationships.
