Gilman, Anne
Anne Gilman (d. 1686) was a Quaker writer of two pamphlets that appeared in the 1660s. The first, An Epistle to Friends…Also, a Letter to Charles, King of England (1662), is a composite of two different letters, while her second pamphlet is a generalized work of admonition, titled To the Inhabitants of the Earth (1663). Gilman’s intention is to reach her readers for their spiritual benefit.
