Development projects are like masau trees (desert apple/Indian plum fruits). They were planted some decades ago but the fruits are still being enjoyed every year by all community members including children who were not born when the trees were planted. When masau trees are planted in the right environment, they blossom and produce fruits for many years serving generations. However, in some climatic conditions, the trees do not produce enough and in some instances, the trees are seen as useless and are cut down for charcoal or firewood. In the same way, some projects do not bear fruits due to various factors.
