This tall person is the local resource person, the Sakhi, and all the people we work with. Learning from your peer group is important because you are learning from similar people. So they are the tallest, the most important person in media because they share their experience and their achievements with peers. The foundation or base is made up of women and men and other local people, local governments. Sometimes this can be unstable if the achievers are not willing to share their experience. We’re not giving them any financial assistance, just knowledge-power. Other than knowledge we don’t give them anything, they build it themselves. So they put in their effort and their resources and come to a higher level.

There are lots of challenges. Especially if she’s a single woman, there are many financial challenges. Knowledge is one thing, but accessibility, availability, affordability – there can be so many issues. Everyone has different kinds of challenges. She needs a lot of courage to speak in front of the camera but sometimes the resource person enjoys seeing their video as well.
