Get Out, Get Active is a project designed by Nottinghamshire YMCA in 2019 and funded by Sport England, which aimed to promote the physical, social and mental well-being of homeless young people residing in YMCA hostels through the delivery of a physical activity programme. The programme was initially funded for a 2-year period (2019-2021) and intended to be delivered to young people residing in YMCA hostels in Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire and Lincoln. The programme design involved 12-week blocks of sporting activity, delivered in the community. The specific activities delivered during each 12-week block were selected by the young residents in collaboration with staff delivering the project and supported by hostel staff at each of the project sites.
