This research report, produced for end-of-life charity Marie Curie, updates work first carried out in 2019 to estimate the number of people dying in poverty in the UK. The latest report reveals a sharp increase in the number of people dying in poverty each year, rising from 93,000 in 2019 to 111,000 in 2023. The research also identifies subgroups of the population that are especially vulnerable to being in poverty at the end of life.
