A new and fast-growing group of computer users is appearing. These are
professionals, managers and such like, who want to use computers in the
course of their work. They have choice over their use of the computers
unlike 'traditional' naive users. This discretion means that they can decide
not to use a computer and this difference means that the research conducted
into, and the design guidelines for, non-discretionary naive users may not be
appropriate for the discretionary users. [Continues.]
