Assessment and management of post ODF situations for sustainable sanitation in specific rural regions of Nepal

The post ODF activities are prominent indicators towards sustainable sanitation. The nation was declared ODF in September 2019 although feeling anxiety to reverting to open defecation due to the lack of proper implementation of the post ODF activities. The research has been successful to explore the current challenges to practices of post ODF activities in the two selected municipalities by conducting on-site observations, interviewing with key informant persons with literature reviewed extensively. Research found majors' indicator for total sanitation not properly implemented as per the government plan consequence very hard to achieve the goal of sustainable sanitation. Research recommendation developed based on the current challenges and opportunities with considering various aspects: social, cultural, political, economical and environmental. The research suggest that all of the concerned stakeholders and community people also need to more attention with willingness to adherence the research recommendation in order to total sanitized community for sustainable sanitation.
