Characterisation of oligomers of vinyl polymers

Large scale Soxhlet extraction and fractional precipitation have been utilised to provide low molecular weight extracts from poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), polystyrene and polyethylene. These extracts were then resolved into their constituent oligomers by high performance gel permeation chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography. [Continues.]
