Conceptual tactical framework for optimizing whole-life cost of sustainable buildings in Jordan

Overall, this research took an interpretivist/ constructivist paradigm, to solve a real-world problem of delivering sustainable buildings in Jordan when the most significant barrier is seen as the capital cost. The research pursued the development of a tactical framework which will encourage clients to adopt sustainability concepts as to reduce its capital cost by management tools and techniques (VM, TQM) and running cost by sustainable systems and materials; hence to focus on whole life-costs. This is a conceptual framework which is developed to promote decisions in projects which allow clients to recognise the whole-life value of investing in sustainable design and construction.
