The thesis describes an investigation of the kinetics of certain
electrochemical energy storage systems. The work mainly involves A.C.
impedance measurements made over a wide frequency range on some primary
and secondary cells. In a number of cases this was sufficient to
establish the electrochemistry and evaluate the magnitudes of the circuit
elements of the analogue for the cell. In some other cases (secondary
cells) the electrode behaviours of anode and cathode had to be
established in order to produce the composite cell behaviours. [Continues.]
