In the present work the significance of desorption of
free radicals from polymer particles during emulsion polymerisation
is under consideration. Reports in the literature show
determination of radical desorption from polymers have received
very little attention. In the present study the radical desorption
rate coefficient, K0, was determined for polystyrene and
poly(methylmethacrylate) particles under various conditions. [Continues.]
