The widespread adoption of CAD in recent years has highlighted problems in both curve and surface representation. There is a need for algorithms to reduce the amount of data input, and for fuller understanding of the underlying mathematics. This thesis falls naturally into two parts; dealing respectively with automatic smooth curve interpolation and surface construction. [Continues.]
