The use of a pattern of accumulated bouts of exercise has become enshrined in recent
public health recommendations. Although there is epidemiological evidence to support
this, the experimental evidence for such recommendations is limited. The four studies
described in this thesis investigated the effects of different patterns of exercise on
fitness, cardiovascular risk and selected psychological parameters. [Continues.]
